The winner of the B-tournament wins the right to participate in the A-tournament in 2008. The same rule applies to the winner of the C-tournament.

Type of tournament: Like in former years, closed round tournaments with 10 players. 9 games on 7 days. Recognised by the FIDE (international chess federation). See this page for the composition of the groups in 2006.

Time control: Fischer 2 hours (+30 seconds per move) per player.

Prizes: 1.: 200€, 2.: 120€, 3.: 80€ + trophies, books, etc. for each tournament (except A and B).

Important: Each player leaves a deposit of 50 € to be returned after completion of the tournament. In the case of an unjustified departure from the tournament the deposit is not returned.

Meals
Apart from the many restaurants in Nancy, you have the possibility to eat in the restaurant of the Conseil Général (weekdays between 12 and 1.30 pm, meal very cheap between 5 and 7 €).

Accomodation
All 4 partner hotels are situated in the same part of town, in a radius of 100m, close to the railway station and to the centre of Nancy. It will take you 15-20 minutes to reach the tournament location on foot, or 10 by tram. When reserving, request the tournament price "Festival d'échecs 2007 ". If you are alone but you want to share a double room in order to reduce costs, please inform the organiser by email so he can give you the email address of another player in the same case.

Hôtel Ibis-Gare ** : Tel. 0033 3 83 32 90 16. Special price: 51€ per room per night (instead of 71€) for one or two persons (2 beds) from Monday to Thursday, and 30 € from Friday to Sunday. Breakfast buffet 7€ per person.
